If I was arrested...

If you saw me in the back of a police or other law enforcement vehicle, what would you think I did to get there?

Answer me, then post this in your own journal (or, you know, don’t) to see how many different crimes you get accused of committing.

A Day with Darth Maul at the Mall

This past weekend was one of the few that I have been able to enjoy in recent weeks. Friday I went over the Nightstar Clan enclave (aka my friend Brian and Maria's place), and enjoyed a weekend of gaming, geeking out and general lounging.

Saturday I came out with the New York Jedi but did not costume. I offered myself up as support staff and photographer for a Ray Park fan event out in Roosevelt Field Mall. The event turned out to be much more fun then expected and I managed to snag quite a few pictures.

If you wish to view the pictures, here are the links:

Part I: http://www.new.facebook.com/album.php?aid=41101&l=5474f&id=507223504
Part II: http://www.new.facebook.com/album.php?aid=41102&l=4bac2&id=507223504

Saturday evening we were back at the Nightstar Enclave for dinner prepared by Brian and more geeking out and costuming shenanigans.

Other then having to go back home early Sunday to work (on two hours sleep no less), all in all a good weekend.

And Finally: Because Ray Park = Awesome.

Something to Ponder

Your result for The Perception Personality Image Test...

NBPS - The Idealist

Nature, Background, Big Picture, and Shape

You perceive the world with particular attention to nature. You focus on the hidden treasures of life (the background) and how that fits into the larger picture. You are also particularly drawn towards the shapes around you. Because of the value you place on nature, you tend to find comfort in more subdued settings and find energy in solitude. You like to ponder ideas and imagine the many possibilities of your life without worrying about the details or specifics. You are in tune with all that is around you and understand your life as part of a larger whole. You prefer a structured environment within which to live and you like things to be predictable.

Steam House Friday - The Memorial Day Warmup/Pajama Party

FM SYGNALS PRESENTS - Steam House Fridays: The Memorial Day Warmup/Pajama Party, Friday May 23rd, 10pm to 4am

Gah! I hate last minute changes. I really do. So due to a scheduling mishap (partly my own fault), seems that this month's edition of Steam House Fridays will be tomorrow instead of the 30th as I thought. So if many of you already have plans, cool.

But...whatever. We're New Yorkers. We deal with last minute changes on a daily basis. So if you dont have any plans or simply want to start off the Holiday Weekend off with a bang, come join myself and Master Flynn for the Memorial Day Warmup/Pajama Party.

Pajamas are optional, but encouraged. As an added bonus, the person with the most original pajama outfit (be it Steampunk, Victorian, Cyberpunk, or whatever your little minds can come up with) and I will personally buy that individual two drinks. So join myself and Master Flynn as we take you all on a on a fantastic music ride into 4am at:

ART LAND
609 Grand Street, Brooklyn, NY
Subway L Train to Lorimer Street, walk down 3 blocks to Grand Street and make a left to ART LAND.

Email me if you need driving directions. Feel free to pass this on to your friends.

NOTE: Costume attire high encouraged but not required.

Your best bet is to sit in the 2nd car to the front of the L train as this will be the best exit to Lorimar and the quickest route to Grand St.

Steam Punk: Denotes works set in an era or world where steam power is still widely used—usually the 19th century, and often set in Victorian era England—but with prominent elements of either science fiction or fantasy, such as fictional technological inventions like those found in the works of H. G. Wells and Jules Verne.

House Music: A style of electronic dance music strongly influenced by elements of the late 1970s soul- and the funk-infused dance music style of disco.

STEAM HOUSE is just that. FM Sygnals DJs Starvin Marvin and Master Flynn present yet another installment of themed dress and cavorting to the very best in underground House, BreakBeat, Hard Floor, and Progressive dance music STEAM PUNK STYLE!

Hello once more!! Starvin Marvin here once again to bring you the details of our upcoming edition of Steam Hour Fridays. This month’s edition is going to take a slightly different approach. Star Wars. You love it. Or Hate it (heresy!!). Nevertheless we all know exactly what it is. Still, I personally have a geeky love of the movie and its sub-culture of sorts (those who know me personally know exactly what I mean).

And so, to satisfy my personal need of Star Wars geekness (and because it’s a cool idea), myself and DJ Master Flynn (always the lurker, trust me he’s around), present The Star Wars Edition of Steam House Friday.

So whether you’re a Jedi, Sith, Stormtrooper, Rebel, or a large man in black armor with an inferiority complex, come on by in your best Star Wars costume (or not) as we take on a fantastic music ride into 4am at:

Its an Outrage

I received the following via one of my mailing lists and I was absolutely compelled to post this accordingly.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear friends and fans,

Please take a minute to sign this petition online. On Jan 27 my wife and I along with 200+ other tenants were forced to vacate our building with only 6 hrs notice. The safety issues that led to this have mostly been taken care of and should be enough to let us back in. Our lives are in total upheaval and the danger is now far greater being that we're homeless! It's criminal that the city of New York has not allowed us back into the building by now. Please forward this to friends. Here's the link to the petition along with last Sunday's NY Times article about it.

thanks for helping out,
Vic Thrill

Steam House Friday - The Leap Year "Come As You Are" Party

FM SYGNALS PRESENTS - STEAM HOUSE FRIDAYS, Friday February 29th, 10pm to 4am

Starvin Marvin here once again with another edition of Steam House Friday. Something amazing will happen on February 29th. Leap Years come only once every four years. It is a time when the realities align, universes intermix, the lines between fact and fiction blur. Well ok maybe not as melodramatic.

Still with that in mind, myself and DJ Master Flynn present a special edition of Steam House Friday, one we like to call the "Come As You Are" Party. What does it mean you ask? It means exactly that. Come as whatever you wish to come. It could be a caveman (or cavegal), a roman senator, a mad scientist, a crazy time time-traveling doctor, a superhero or even a supervillian, whatever your heart's desire.

As a special treat, DJs Starvin Marvin and Master Flynn will be hosting a costume contest. The winner for the best costume will even receive a prize!!!

So we invite you to come out in your best looks, sit back, have a drink, dance your assess off to the sounds, or hell, why not all of the above, dressed in your best costume or fashion (or whatever tickles your fancy) as you groove into 4am with DJs Starvin Marvin and Master Flynn from FM Sygnals at:

I Am A: Neutral Good Human Rogue (5th Level)

Ability Scores:

Strength-17

Dexterity-16

Constitution-15

Intelligence-13

Wisdom-15

Charisma-16

Alignment:
Neutral Good A neutral good character does the best that a good person can do. He is devoted to helping others. He works with kings and magistrates but does not feel beholden to them. Neutral good is the best alignment you can be because it means doing what is good without bias for or against order. However, neutral good can be a dangerous alignment because because it advances mediocrity by limiting the actions of the truly capable.

Race:
Humans are the most adaptable of the common races. Short generations and a penchant for migration and conquest have made them physically diverse as well. Humans are often unorthodox in their dress, sporting unusual hairstyles, fanciful clothes, tattoos, and the like.

Class:
Rogues have little in common with each other. While some - maybe even the majority - are stealthy thieves, many serve as scouts, spies, investigators, diplomats, and simple thugs. Rogues are versatile, adaptable, and skilled at getting what others don't want them to get. While not equal to a fighter in combat, a rogue knows how to hit where it hurts, and a sneak attack can dish out a lot of damage. Rogues also seem to have a sixth sense when it comes to avoiding danger. Experienced rogues develop nearly magical powers and skills as they master the arts of stealth, evasion, and sneak attacks. In addition, while not capable of casting spells on their own, a rogue can sometimes 'fake it' well enough to cast spells from scrolls, activate wands, and use just about any other magic item.

Do NOT let this happen.

In case you haven't already heard the news, photographers, filmakers,
local residents, and tourists are on the verge of facing serious
restrictions by New York City Mayor's Office. The City of New York plans
to enact legislation THIS FRIDAY that will require a group of two or more
people who want to use a moving or still camera in a public location for
more than half an hour (including setup and breakdown time) to get a
permit and proof of a one million dollar liability insurance policy.
There would also be a requirement for groups of five or more who use a
tripod for more than ten minutes to provide the same. This legislation is
a significant threat to the livelihoods of many, many artists (myself
included) and a violation of our Constitutional First Amendment right to
photograph in public places.

PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION by Thursday night to prevent this disaster from
happening:

http://www.pictureny.org/petition/index.php

Every signature counts and is greatly appreciated. You don't have to be a
New York resident to sign it. Please pass this on.

Thank you so much for signing and helping to keep New York the great city
that it was, is, and I hope will always be.
